Jhang: jhangnews A sum of Rs.2.024 billion is being spent for the completion of 493 uplift schemes of public welfare which is record in the history of district Jhang with reference to development and would help in turning the development condition of the district Jhang in right directions. This was disclosed by DCO Shahid Niaz while addressing to the media conference
here on Friday at Jinnah Hall district council. DOC Asmat Imran, DO Planning Haider Abbas Kamlana, AC Sajjad Zafar Gondal and other officers of district govt. were also present on the occasion. The DCO highlighted the role of media in national/regional development, social reformation and identification of the public issues and said that the positive criticism and useful proposals would be welcomed by the media persons. Elaborating the development activities in the district, he informed that the 9 uplift schemes including widening/improvement of Darul Sakina road alongwith laying of sewerage lines, construction of balance portion of Jhang bypass, upgradation of RHC Ahmadpur Sial to THQ Hospital, establishment of trauma centre at DHQ Hospital, provision of missing facility in 145 girls schools of rural areas, rehabilitation/improvement of Mian Nawaz Sharif Park Jhang city, construction of Mian Shahbaz Sharif Library Jhang and construction of THQ Hospital at 18 Hazari were being completed with a cost of Rs.500 million under CM development package. He said that 166 development schemes had been undertaken in the district at a cost of Rs.348.94 million under MPAs package. The DCO said that the 15 development projects of construction of roads were being completed at a cost of 180 million under city development package while 24 development schemes of provision of basic facilities had been taken with the funds of 48 million under Punjab development programme and funds of Rs.244.29 million were being spent on the 145 uplift schemes of provision of missing facilities under Punjab education sector reforms programme in the district. The DCO also apprised the mediamen about the future develomebnt programme and said that different uplift schemes had been proposed under CM development package of Rs.500 million in the next financial year. He said that a road from Sem Nala to Aliabad Bakkar road alongside bank of the river would be constructed for decreasing the heavy traffic (cars) load in the city area. While dualization of roads from Lari Adda toChenab Bridge , Bakkar road upto Bypass and Railway crossing to Chiniot More had also been proposed. On identification of some issues, the DCO said that the solid waste management system was also being improved while the scope of anti encroachment campaign was also being expended besides taking line of action for the improvement of traffic management and vehicle parking. The mediamen identified the poor performance of DHQ Hospital and TMA Jhang and stressed upon the early redressal of the public complaints in this regard.
